Missing All Upper or Lower Teeth

If you want to restore your smile but are missing all of your upper or lower teeth, Dr. Richard Cordero at Eastern Shore Oral, Facial and Implant Surgery Center wants you to know that you have options when it comes to your customized oral restoration.

Types of Dentures

Snap-On Dentures

Snap-on dentures are designed with two ball attachment dental implants and are a hybrid denture. They can be removed for ease of use, but because they are “snapped” into place over their implant, they are also semi-permanently fixed in your mouth, which makes eating and talking a breeze.

Overdentures

This denture option uses four to six dental implants that are attached to each other with a “bar.” This bar is what supports your denture, creating a stable foundation for an oral appliance that can be clipped into place or removed as needed by the patients.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Unlike our first two options, implant-supported dentures are completely permanent. They are fixed into place using five or more screw retained dental implants and are designed function like the real thing.

Individual Implants

If a patient wants to do away with dentures as a whole and their bone structure can support it, individually placed dental implants may be an option. Of all the treatments offered, this one is the most intensive; however, once complete, it is also the most comfortable, functional and natural looking.
